In a strategic move to enhance the state’s manufacturing capabilities, the Tamil Nadu government has allotted 130 acres of land to Taiwan’s Hong Fu for the establishment of a state-of-the-art ₹1,000 crore footwear manufacturing unit. This significant investment is expected to play a key role in strengthening Tamil Nadu’s position as a leader in the global footwear industry. The new facility will focus on the production of high-quality footwear catering to both domestic and international markets, further boosting the region’s export potential and manufacturing capacity.
The allocated land, located in a prime industrial zone, offers excellent infrastructure and connectivity, enabling Hong Fu to efficiently manage its supply chain, production processes, and distribution networks. The investment will also provide a significant economic boost to the local community by creating thousands of jobs, from manufacturing roles to positions in research and development, management, and logistics. The move also aligns with the Tamil Nadu government’s vision to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) in the state’s manufacturing sector.
As part of the initiative, Hong Fu will also incorporate sustainable manufacturing practices, including the use of eco-friendly materials and advanced technologies to minimize environmental impact.
